Sparklike Handheld 3.0 is the backbone of measuring IGU’s with double glazing. Thanks to its small size, it is easy to get a fast reading of gas concentration. The user can simply place the device against the unit, press the button and receive an instant result with high accuracy.
The device is portable and battery operated, thus being practical and quick to use with a measurement time of 2 seconds!
Sparklike Handheld™ has become the industry standard for non-destructive measurement – and used by insulating glass manufacturers, window and door manufacturers and testing laboratories worldwide. It is a practical and quick method to test IG argon gas concentration. Krypton measurement is available as an option.
The technology is based on plasma emission spectroscopy, in line with ASTM E2649-20, which defines the standard test method for determining argon concentration in sealed insulating glass units using spark emission spectroscopy. The device launches a high-voltage spark into the IG unit’s cavity, exciting the gas molecules and causing a light emission that is analyzed to determine gas concentration.
The Sparklike Handheld 3.0™ has been independently tested and validated by ift Rosenheim, confirming its compliance with the EN 1279-3 standard for gas concentration measurement accuracy. With an average deviation of just 1.0% compared to gas chromatography, the device demonstrates exceptional reliability for measuring argon levels in double-glazed insulating glass units.
Choose Sparklike Handheld 3.0™—proven precision for your IGU production needs.
