What to Do If You See a “Glass Detection Error” Message

If you receive a “Glass Detection Error”, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Check pre-set values – Make sure the glass and spacer thickness values are correctly set in the software.
  2. Confirm proper contact – Ensure the device is firmly pressed against the glass and is not tilted.
  3. Clean the window – Dirt or residue on the device window may block the signal. Clean it carefully.
  4. Restart the device – If the issue persists, shut down Windows, wait 20 seconds, and restart the device.

If none of the above helps, the error may be caused by insufficient laser signal passing through the glass. This can happen due to special coatings (like Low-E) on surfaces 1 or 2 of the IGU. In this case try measuring from the other side of the unit to bypass the coating interference.
